Knight, who was also celebrated as the 2024 American Bus Association Motorcoach Driver of the Year, continues to set exemplary standards within the industry. With over 2.1 million safe driving miles and more than 25 years of accident-free service, Knight is not only a pillar in his community in Staten Island but also a leading figure in safe transportation. He has safely transported over 600,000 passengers, showcasing his profound commitment to safety and customer service.
Peter Pan Bus Lines operated 7.5 million miles in 2023, carrying over 2.6 million passengers, with over 100 drivers completing the year without an accident. Knight’s recognition highlights his leadership in a year marked by outstanding company-wide safety achievements. The company celebrated these achievements at its S.T.A.R. awards event on April 9th in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey, and plans to honor more safe drivers on April 24th in Springfield.
Knight attended the awards banquet with his wife, Candace, who he regards as his biggest support system.
The Founder’s Award is given in memory of the visionary leadership of Peter C. Picknelly, who established the company 91 years ago.
