NECANN

Friday-Sunday, September 10-12, 2021

Hynnes Convention Center

Tickets for March 2022 TBA

After an 18 month hiatus, one of New England’s largest and longest standing cannabis expos came back online. It was a safe and enjoyable experience for all in attendance as exhibitors and attendees were required to wear masks inside per the Mayor of Boston. Since its inception, NECANN has been a hub of collaboration and connection operating in New England, bringing new cannabis businesses, entrepreneurs, advocates, patients, investors, educators, consumers, and even the canna-curious together since 2014. You will find NECANN to be an eye-opening experience. If you’ve never attended a cannabis or hemp expo before, exposing yourself to new and innovative ideas in science and technology will create new opportunities and growth in the emerging industry. Exhibitors include dispensaries like The Botanist, manufacturers like Coast Cannabis Company, CBD and hemp company The Healing Rose, even ancillary businesses like Securitas who were distributing envelopes of cash ranging from $1 to $100, just for watching a short informative video! The beauty of NECANN is that most folks exhibiting behind the booth just may be the CEO or Founder of the company. You’ll see the opportunity to learn about the people behind the brand, learn how it’s made, and truly get to hear their story. Be sure to grab a goodie bag when you walk in to pick up swag from every booth

The next NECANN show in Boston will take place March 18-20, 2022 in Boston, MA at the Hynes Convention Center, 900 Boylston Street.

Boston Freedom Rally

Saturday, September 18, 2021 12PM-8PM

Boston Commons

FREE

The annual Boston Freedom Rally takes place in Boston Commons on the second or third Saturday of September. It’s organized by the Massachusetts Cannabis Reform Coalition, Inc. (MassCann), the state’s longest-standing marijuana advocacy group. The Boston Freedom Rally is known as the second largest annual gathering, demanding cannabis law reform in the United States, following the Seattle Hempfest. Since 2016, when the state of Massachusetts legalized and achieved the original goal of the organization; the rally has morphed into a celebration of Massachusetts’ legal policy toward cannabis, and a chance to educate the community  while providing opportunity to keep marijuana-related issues in the public forum as the state continues to mold its marijuana regulatory and legislative framework.

Attendees have the opportunity to explore Boston Common like never before, getting to see up-and-coming bands, meet local entrepreneurs selling their goods (we love to #SupportLocal!), enjoy delicious healthy food from vendors and get to experience a piece of Massachusetts cannabis history.

You are probably thinking, “can I smoke cannabis at the Boston Freedom Rally?” Well legally, you cannot. The City of Boston made it illegal to smoke anything in city parks, however, possession of up to one ounce of cannabis is legal in Massachusetts for adults 21 plus. Many attendees take the day to participate in civil disobedience, and for the first time in history, people who do choose to smoke marijuana on the Boston Common during the Freedom Rally will be committing true Civil Disobedience, as their actions are no longer deemed criminal. Ultimately, if people decide to partake in resistance and pay homage to marijuana prohibition at the Boston Freedom Rally, it is their choice, at their own risk as public consumption still banned, and violations leading to a US$100 civil fine.[1]

This year’s 32nd Boston Freedom Rally will headline Immortal Technique featuring local opening musical acts; C-Millzy, EazyBaby, Robby Roadsteamer, Carol Pingo and The Finger Hash Bandits, DJ Slim and DireSloth.
